Darwen Vale Principal Invited To Downing Street
Darwen Vale High School Principal Mrs. Fiona Jack was invited to Downing Street on 11th February 5pm to meet the Prime Minister David Cameron.
The reception which took place at Number 10 was to celebrate inspiring teachers and head teachers from across the country. Mrs Jack joined Darwen Vale in January 2012 and was confirmed as the Academy’s Principal upon conversion in December 2014. She was accompanied at the reception by Rossendale and Darwen MP Jake Berry, who said:
“Head teachers do an extremely difficult job and it’s very important that they are recognised as the supportive and inspiring figures that they are. Mrs Jack is an exceptional head teacher and I’m really pleased that this is being recognised on such a national level.”
Mrs Jack said:
“I’m thrilled to be invited to a reception at Downing Street that celebrates teachers and teaching. I represent an extremely hardworking and talented team from Darwen Vale High School and this is very welcome recognition for the whole school community and the progress we are making together.”
“It will be a privilege to walk through that famous door at Number 10 and I cannot wait to share news of my experience with the pupils when I return to school.”
