Portslade Aldridge Community Academy was recognised as Most Improved School of the Year at the Brighton Argus Youth In Action Awards yesterday. The Academy had a double celebration as Head of PSHCE & Student Leadership Dean Flynn was selected for the Teacher of the Year award.
The Argus said; “The school in Portslade has gone from special measures before it became an academy in 2011 to being rated good across the board by Ofsted in a few short years.”
The Awards come after hundreds of nominations were sent in by the public to The Argus before winners were chosen by votes from sponsors for the event. Director of Study for Art and Design, Sharon Durham, joined Dean in collecting the Most Improved School award on behalf of the academy.
