Darren and Lilia get schools dancing

 Over 400 students from Salford’s Albion High School and Darwen Aldridge Community Academy joined dance stars Darren and Lilia at the Lowry in January to launch Essentially Dance. The new pilot scheme aims to encourage young people to engage in a new form of physical activity in an attempt to contribute to the battle against childhood obesity. It is the first training package for school staff to teach ballroom and Latin American dances to students, and will feature other resources including a DVD choreographed by Darren and Lilia.
