Best ever exam results at Darwen Academy

Students at the Darwen Aldridge Community Academy have broken records with a 26% increase in the number of pupils achieving 5 or more GCSE grades A*-C that include English and Maths.

This means 49% of all students secured those results, with 90% achieving 5 or more A*-C grades overall and every student securing at least one GCSE.

The results were welcomed by Academy Principal Brendan Loughran, who said: “Our students deserve the highest praise for achieving our best ever GCSE results. As always, the support of parents and carers has really been appreciated and I am also proud of the work done by all our staff.”
