Alongside the opening of Darwen Aldridge Community Academy in its new state of the art building, Darwen Creates has also opened for business.

Located on the iconic Entrepreneurship Bridge, the business incubation centre offers flexible workspace in eleven office pods as well as a dedicated team to provide support and advice to people wishing to develop a business idea or start a business. It also gives local businesses to meet up and share their experiences, and ideas.

Speaking at the launch, Rod Aldridge said: “Darwen Creates is the realisation of our vision to support young people and the wider community to develop business ideas and turn them into a reality. The project helps to break down the barriers traditionally faced by entrepreneurs, giving them the greatest chance of succeeding.”

The launch event gave local business leaders and councillors the opportunity to look around the centre and visit the Pods, to see them in operation.

Max Larcombe, Project Manager of Darwen Creates said, “This is a fantastic resource for the local community and an incredible space to run a business from. We’d like as many people as possible to benefit from the project and release their entrepreneurial potential. If you’ve got an idea for a business or have recently started a new business then all you need to do is get in touch to discuss how we can help.”
