Darwen’s Academy graded good for the contribution pupils make to school & wider community
16/02/2011
The Darwen Aldridge Community Academy has recently undergone a full Section 5 OFSTED inspection. The inspector
graded the following areas of the Academy’s work as good:
- The extent to which pupils feel safe
- Pupils’ behaviour
- The extent to which pupils contribute to the school and wider community
- The effectiveness of care, guidance and support
- The effectiveness of partnerships in promoting learning and well-being
Overall, the Academy was judged to be providing a satisfactory standard of education.
Brendan Loughran, the DACA Principal, said:
“After just over two years of significant change and notable improvements, two OFSTED inspections and the logistical challenge of completing and moving into a new building, this report helps to establish future priorities and our aim is to move the school to a good or outstanding grading in the future.”
