MCC report praises Sir Rod Aldridge Cricket Centre
130 children applied for the programme in just a couple of weeks following the launch, which the report describes as “testament to the excellent promotion of the scheme by all involved, but also highlighting the lack of existing opportunities for local players.” The programme was designed to complement the work being undertaken by Sussex Cricket in local primary and secondary schools.
The Hub operates from the Sir Rod Aldridge Cricket Centre at Brighton Aldridge Community Academy which the report praises, saying:”We are very fortunate to have this venue, which is conveniently located and offers excellent facilities.”
Mr Bird’s report concludes: “Considering this Hub is very much in its infancy, it is already one of the strongest in terms of the overall standard of participants, facilities, and coaching. My priority is to maintain this high-quality for the following season, and I am confident there is more potential to be unlocked going forwards.”
