On his visit to the school, Minister of State for Business and Enterprise Mark Prisk praised the Academy’s recent Ofsted result, and the its commitment to placing an entrepreneurial culture at the heart of school life. The Academy was recently judged to be ‘good with no recommendations’.

Welcoming him to the Academy, Principal Philomena Hogg said, "While this result is important, it is only one step on a long journey.  We intend to transform the life-chances of our students, and through them the wider community."

On a tour of the Academy, the Minister met a number of students and staff, concluding in Brighton Creates where he was introduced to the winning team of students behind The Lemon Community Garden Project, a social enteprise recently devised as part of a national Global Entrepreneurship Week Challenge.  He called the enterprise "an inspiration" and asked the students to update him on their progress.

Following the visit Chief Executive of The Aldridge Foundation, Honor Wilson-Fletcher, welcomed the visit and the recent Ofsted result. She said, "I am delighted that the hard work of our students and teachers is appreciated at a national level. The Minister’s visit was a fantastic endorsement of our ambition to make all of our Academies genuinely entrepreneurial."
