Rod Aldridge calls for simplified outsourcing system

 

The Aldridge Foundation Chairman this week called for radical changes to the outsourcing system currently employed.  In his article in Society Guardian, he recommended for the formation of special purpose vehicles, with open and transparent working practices and performance related pay.

First Entrepreneurship Career Academy launched in Darwen

 

As part of the UK-wide programme from the organisation Career Academies,Darwen Aldridge Community Academy will play host to the first EntrepreneurshipCareer Academy.  Designed for sixth formers with strong GCSE results, they will experience first hand the power of entrepreneurship, through Guru Lectures and Open The Door experiences visiting local businesses.  This will form part of the wider Aspire 2 B programme on which The Aldridge Foundation is working, dealing with IAG provision.

Aldridge Foundation cautiously welcomes changes to Academy sponsorship system

 

The Foundation welcomed Ed Balls’ announcement in September that the Academy sponsorship system would be regularised, with future sponsors measured on added value and their ability to create change within schools and communities.  However, the Foundation questions whether the target of 400 Academies is still the right one, and, if so, how leadership teams with the ability to lead those transformations can be sourced.

Falmer Academy Open Evening takes place

 

1st October saw the first Open Evening for the second Aldridge Academy inBrighton.  Sponsor Rod Aldridge and Principal-Designate Phil Hogg outlined their plans for the Academy, and stated the need to build on existing work to enhance levels of achievement.  The Academy will again specialise in entrepreneurship and sport, mirroring successes in our north-west based Academy.
