Plans for Portslade Aldridge Community Academy unveiled

09/05/2011

The first plans for the new Portslade Academy have been published, and the community has been invited to have their say.

The school will become the third Aldridge-sponsored Academy, putting entrepreneurial thinking and science at the heart of all it does.

A new document gives details of the Academy’s ethos, vision and curriculum, and includes information about the partners that the Foundation and Academy will be working with in the coming years.

The new Academy will open in September, backed with £12.7million of new investment to refurbish and modernise the existing school buildings, and bring the sixth form into a new building on site.

As part of the build up to the opening of the Academy, students are playing a key role in choosing the Academy uniform, and helping design the new logo.

The Academy’s Principal Designate, Stuart McLaughlin, says that Portslade is on a journey to improve standards, committed to ensuring all students unlock their potential.

You can read the document in full by visiting www.paca.uk.com where the questionnaire being sent to parents, students and the wider community is also available to read as well.
