Portslade Aldridge Community Academy opens for business in September

The name of the Foundation’s new Academy has been revealed – the Portslade Aldridge Community Academy (PACA) will open for business this September.

It joins DACA in Darwen, and BACA in Falmer, as a member of the Foundation’s Academy family and, like the others, it will put entrepreneurial thinking at the heart of all it does.

PACA will benefit from over £12million of investment, including a new sixth form on the Chalky Road site.

Rod Aldridge, a former pupil of the college, said he was honoured to be able to put something back into the community, adding:
“I want our students to reach their full potential, to achieve whatever they want in life, but also help to improve Portslade overall.”

Stuart McLaughlin, the Head of PCC and Principal Designate of PACA, said:
“The new Academy will deliver substantial improvements to the standards of education, building on our successes so far and ensuring all our students get the best education we can offer them.
I am also really proud we have secured £12m to improve our school – at a time when investment in school buildings is under pressure, we can do a great deal for the school community with this money.”
