Statement Regarding Kensington Aldridge Academy and Grenfell Tower

Date: June 21st 2017

Following the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower, the Aldridge Foundation and  the Aldridge Family want to thank the staff at Kensington Aldridge Academy who have worked tirelessly over the last few days to support the students, their families and the wider community.  We are very proud of the way the team has so quickly ensured the wellbeing of the students and put in place necessary arrangements to ensure they continue to get the support they need.

KAA‎ has arranged for alternative accommodation to provide a safe place for them to continue with their studies and be supported by friends and staff. For the immediate future, KAA is holding its classes at Burlington Danes Academy and Latymer Upper School. We are very grateful for their generosity and support.

Sir Rod Aldridge, Chairman of the Aldridge Foundation, said:

‘The tragic fire at Grenfell Tower has shocked us all deeply. My family and all of the team at our Foundation send our thoughts and sympathies to the families and friends of those affected including to the whole school community at Kensington Aldridge Academy. My heartfelt thanks go to the staff at KAA who have been relentless in their efforts to provide support to our students and the wider community. They, along with the students, have shown incredible strength and resilience throughout this terrible event. We are grateful to Burlington Danes Academy and Latymer Upper School for opening their doors and allowing KAA to run lessons and exams from their buildings and to all of those so generously reaching out with offers of support which we are sure will be gratefully received in the coming weeks and months”
