Rod Aldridge

Rod Aldridge is an entrepreneur with over 40 years experience of working in the public and private sectors.
He is the founder of the Capita Group retiring in July 2006 as Chairman. Subsequently he established The Aldridge Foundation to continue his work on public service reform and to focus on his charitable activities.

Internships
As part of its commitment to education the Aldridge Foundation offers an exciting internship programme.
The programme offers applicants the opportunity to gain a wide variety of skills, across a range of varied project areas, including:
- Education, through the Foundation’s sponsorship of a new academy in Darwen, near Blackburn;
- The voluntary sector, as a result of Rod Aldridge’s chairmanship of the youth volunteering charity, v;
- The arts, through Rod Aldridge’s chairmanship of The Lowry arts and entertainment venue in Salford;
- Underachievement in young people more generally, through, for example, involvement with the Prince’s Trust; and
- Public sector reform, especially as a result of the Foundation’s link with a new Centre for Public Seervice Partnerships at Birmingham University.
Interns assist with:
- Research and coordination of new and existing data on public service reform;
- Presentations, articles and speeches;
- Research on background material for all the Foundation’s projects; and
- Keeping the Foundation updated on relevant activity in Government, Whitehall, Think Tanks and the Third Sector.
The internship programme provides a fantastic opportunity for an intern to work closely with Rod Aldridge in the fields of educational underachievement in young people and public service reform.
