Rod Aldridge

Rod Aldridge is an entrepreneur with over 40 years experience of working in the public and private sectors.
He is the founder of the Capita Group retiring in July 2006 as Chairman. Subsequently he established The Aldridge Foundation to continue his work on public service reform and to focus on his charitable activities.

- Elizabeth Anderson - Executive Assistant to the Chairman
Elizabeth began her career at the Confederation of British Industry, where she worked for four years, assisting the President and Director-General. In her own time she is studying BSc International Relations through the London School of Economics External Programme.
As Executive Assistant she provides administrative support to the Chairman, as well as assisting with research, and working on the We Are What We Do Young Speakers Programme.
- Daniel Hutt - Policy Research Analyst
After finishing an MA in International Politics and Europe from the University of Warwick in the summer of 2006, Daniel was taken on as an intern by The Foundation in October. In January 2007 he was appointed to the position of Policy Research Analyst.
Daniel's role entails policy research for the projects with which The Foundation is involved, specifically in the fields of social exclusion and criminal justice, and for the reports, articles and speeches produced on public service reform.
- Brendan Loughran - Principal Designate, Darwen Aldridge Community Academy
Brendan was selected in 2001 to participate in the DfES/NCSL pilot Trainee Headteacher scheme. The national scheme identified successful and experienced Deputy Headteachers, placed them alongside Headteachers in Schools Facing Challenging Circumstances and provided advanced training as preparation for headship.
In 2002, Brendan was appointed Headteacher of Westhoughton 11-18 High School in Bolton. The school was widely regarded as making significant progress under his leadership.
Brendan was appointed Principal Designate of The Darwen Aldridge Community Academy in January 2007 (for the press release announcing his appointment click here).
- Sally Ritchie - Foundation Coordinator
Sally began her career in Westminster and Whitehall before going on to work in public affairs consultancy. She joined Rod at Capita in 2005 to support his work on public service reform and his charitable trust which targets social exclusion of the young. Sally moved with Rod when he retired form Capita to set up The Aldridge Foundation.
She is the Sponsor’s representative on the Darwen Aldridge Community Academy. Sally works along side The Prince’s Trust on their 1-2-1 project and has general responsibility for The Foundation’s involvement in match funded projects.
- Joe Stockwell - Intern
Having recently completed a degree in theology at the University of Birmingham, before which he volunteered as a youth worker for a year and completed the Student Associates Scheme; Joe has joined The Foundation as an intern.
Joe's main responsibilities include:
- Research and coordination of new and existing data on public service reform;
- Presentations, articles and speeches;
- Research on background material for all The Foundation’s projects;
- and Keeping The Foundation updated on relevant activity in Government, Whitehall, Think Tanks and the Third Sector.
