Rod Aldridge

Rod Aldridge is an entrepreneur with over 40 years experience of working in the public and private sectors.
He is the founder of the Capita Group retiring in July 2006 as Chairman. Subsequently he established The Aldridge Foundation to continue his work on public service reform and to focus on his charitable activities.

Rod Aldridge has been a regular speaker at conferences and seminars. Specifically, his areas of interest and expertise are as follows:
- The Capita Group. The corporate story from start up in CIPFA to the FTSE 100 today. This includes the lessons learned in managing staff, investors, customer and the press;
- The development of the support services market in the UK in the public and private sectors including the competitive landscape;
- The barriers to public service reform and the benefits of working in partnership with the private and voluntary sectors to achieve change faster;
- The development of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) tracking the change from direct service provision in organisation through compulsory competitive tendering in the public sector to partnership working today;
- The difference in ethos that there is in the private to public sectors and why each needs the other;
- The opportunity for shared services and offshoring in the delivery of services;
- Volunteering and the benefits that it brings to young people.
Articles
In addition to his speaking engagements, Rod has been a regular contributor to national journals and to the national press both in his capacity as Executive Chairman of the Capita Group and Chairman of the CBI’s Public Services Strategy Board.
He has recently been invited to publish a series of articles for the Municipal Journal, the first of which was published in January 2007.
