Stuart McLaughlin - Principal

Stuart McLaughlinStuart graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Sport Science and History in 1983.  He started teaching history and Physical Education at Ringmer Community School in East Sussex before moving to Oak Farm Community School in Farnborough, Hants.  This is where Stuart built up his leadership experience as Head of Department, Head of Year and Head of Faculty.

During his time at Oak Farm he realised the importance of schools working alongside their communities in order to raise standards, provide additional services and fully utilise the facilities and resources of the school.

His first experience of senior leadership was gained at Haling Manor High School in Croydon where he became Senior Deputy Headteacher.  He spent six years at the school and learnt a great deal about the art of leading a challenging comprehensive school.

He became Headteacher at Falmer High School in September 2003.  The school served a very deprived part of Brighton.  Despite the challenges that this brought, he really enjoyed working with the students, staff and parents.

Stuart is the first Principal of PACA, having been Headteacher at the predecessor school, Portslade Community College.  PACA has the potential to achieve outstanding outcomes, and Stuart is very excited about the future and being given the opportunity to transform this learning community.
