Aldridge Junior Signature Art Prize 2023 Finalists announced

The Aldridge Junior Signature Art Prize inspires, informs and develops confidence in young people, to raise their aspirations and explore how their talent could lead to a career in the arts or creative industries. The Junior Prize gives young artists, aged 14-18, the opportunity to enter a prestigious art competition, with the chance to have their artwork displayed at the Bankside Hotel – London’s ‘Art Hotel’ – on the renowned South Bank, a stone’s throw from the Tate Modern.

Green Careers Week

As world leaders gather in Egypt to discuss how to tackle global climate change at COP27, the UK is using Green Careers Week 2022 (launched by National Careers Week) to shine a light on the climate jobs of the future. The Aldridge Foundation is also encouraging young people to consider how they can have their own impact on tackling one of the greatest challenges facing their generation.

Bright Futures students explore the dramatic landscape of Snowdonia National Park

As part of our Bright Futures programme, young people facing various personal challenges from London and Lancashire came together for a three day outdoor activity residential to help develop key life skills and have time for valuable self-reflection. Surrounded by beautiful scenery – mountains, waterfalls, vast green valleys and tumbling rivers – we saw their confidence grow as they continued to build on the skills developed through their in-school coaching sessions.

Girls Community Cricket Programme inspires 1000’s to take up sport

It has been a momentous summer already for women’s sport. Football finally came home with the Lionesses beating the Germans at Wembley to claim the Women’s Euros last month, and women swept to gold in a host of events at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. With interest and participation in women’s sport reaching unprecedented levels, women and girls across the country are now looking to a new generation of sporting heroines. Sport has always been central to the Aldridge Foundation’s mission to equip young people with transferable skills and attributes that will help them throughout their life at school and continue benefitting them as they go on to further education and the world of work.

We’re excited to announce our new Futures Hub, created in partnership with wellbeing technology specialist Frog Systems. The digital platform is a ‘one stop shop’ for students thinking about and taking their next steps post school, giving them access to a collection of articles, resources, and templates to help them as they go onto further education and the world of work.
